St. Louis – The Maryville men's basketball team led Truman State for more than 32 minutes but the Bulldogs rallied late to topple the Saints 68-64.
Dylan Ingram scored a season-high 19 points to pace the Maryville attack. He hit all three of his 3-point attempts and all six at the free-throw line.
Cameron Scales added 12 points, while
Jaeden Smith finished with 11.

What Happened:
Smith scored on a layup to boost the Saints to a 25-18 lead in the first half. TSU answered with an 8-0 burst but
Trey Baker sank a jumper. Two free throws by
Kelvin Swims and two more at the stripe by Ingram pushed the Saints up 31-26. However, the Bulldogs scored the final six points to take a 32-31 lead at halftime.

Ingram splashed in a trey, and Swims had an offensive rebound put back. Smith drilled a 3-pointer for a 39-32 advantage. Truman closed to within one point but Maryville went on a 9-1 run, capped by an Ingram triple for a 50-42 lead. Scales hit both ends of a one-and-one as the Saints took their biggest lead of the night at 57-47 with 6:06 left. The Bulldogs rallied to forge a tie at 57-all. Ingram drilled a corner 3-pointer for a 60-57 lead with three minutes remaining. Truman converted four straight free throws to take a 61-60 lead.

The Bulldogs scored a second-chance basket to take a 63-60 lead. Swims sank one free throw but Truman again hit two more free throws. Scales sank a 3-pointer to pull the Saints to 65-64. Maryville put the Bulldogs back on the line but the visitors only made one for a 66-64 lead with 14.8 seconds left. The Saints were looking to tie or take the lead but were called for traveling, and Truman made two free throws to seal the rally.
