Zach Baker fired in five goals and added an assist as the Maryville men's lacrosse team defeated Embry-Riddle 10-9 Tuesday. The win is the fourth straight for the Saints who improved to 6-1 on the season.

The Eagles took a 3-2 lead with 6:29 left in the first quarter but the Maryville defense took over. The Saints did not allow Embry-Riddle to score for more than 24 minutes.
Aidan Koenig fired in back-to-back goals to push the Saints ahead 4-3. Baker then tallied a natural hat trick with three straight goals. His score at the end of the first was good for a 5-3 lead. Both defenses were strong in the second quarter as neither team scored.

Baker found the back of the net 16 seconds into the third, and less than a minute later, his goal was good for a 7-3 margin. The Eagles finally scored three minutes after halftime and pulled to within to 8-6.
Ethan Olson scored for a 9-6 edge. Embry-Riddle tallied the last goal of the third to make it 9-7. Baker ripped in his fifth goal of the game for a 10-7 lead with just under 10 minutes to play. The Eagles crept back to within 10-9 with 1:09 remaining in the game. The Eagles won the ensuing faceoff but the Saints stopped three straight shots in the final seconds to hold on for the victory.
