St. Louis – The Maryville men's lacrosse team won its fifth straight contest as the Saints beat Montevallo 12-9 Saturday. Maryville scored five unanswered goals in the second half to spark the victory.
Tyler Wenck recorded a hat trick and an assist to pace the offense, while
Stephen DeSantis made a season-high 10 saves in goal to notch the win.

The teams traded goals and the score was tied 3-3 before the Falcons went up 6-3. The Saints answered with four straight to take the lead.
Eskander Kian Ben Aissa started the run with a goal, and Wenck scored his first of the day.
Ethan Olson tied the game midway through the second quarter, and Wenck pushed the Saints ahead 7-6. Montevallo tied the game 7-7 at the break.

The Falcons opened the third quarter with a score but the Saints went on the decisive 5-0 run to take command. Wenck completed his hat trick to start the burst, and
Clayton Cerett's score gave the Saints a 9-8 edge. Olson scored to open the fourth, and
Reid Usrey tallied four minutes later. Cerett's score midway through the fourth made it 12-8 and the Saints kept the Falcons at bay the rest of the way.
