ST. LOUIS –
Jacob Kroeger tossed a one-hit shutout to earn a 6-0 win in game one on Saturday, but the Saints split the doubleheader with the Panthers after a 7-2 loss in game two.

Jacob Kroeger got off to a fast start, hanging three straight zeros in the first three frames.

Still leading 1-0, designated hitter
Joey Polak connected on an opposite-field home run to lead off the bottom of the fifth. Later in the inning,
Alex Hoff ripped a two-run home run to left field to extend the lead to 4-0.
Kroeger hurled another scoreless frame in the top of the sixth after allowing a leadoff base runner and got even more insurance in the bottom half. With
Brad Willis in scoring position, Polak picked up another RBI with a double to right-center.
Elias Stevens brought him home in the next at-bat to push the lead to six runs.
With the 4-5-6 hitters due up in the top of the seventh, Kroeger again made quick work of the Panthers, getting a pop out, a strikeout, and a groundout to short to earn his second win of the campaign.

Drury Game Two Recap
The Saints fell into an early hole after a pair of RBI singles in the first and a solo home run in the second pushed Drury ahead 3-0. Hoff cut the lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single up the middle.
Two more in the fifth inning from the visitors had them ahead 6-1 before an RBI groundout from Polak brought Maryville within four. The Panthers added another run in the top of the sixth.
Now with a five-run lead, Panther starter Cade Waits finished off his complete-game effort with scoreless innings in the sixth and the seventh to earn a 7-2 win.
