Quincy, Ill. – The Maryville men's lacrosse team held Quincy without a goal for the final 29 minutes of the game en route to an 8-3 Great Lakes Valley Conference road victory.
Clayton Cerett notched a hat trick, while
Tyler Wenck tallied twice to boost the offense.

Justin Morgan recorded the first goal of the game, and
Connor Eskridge doubled it just over a minute later. Cerett scored his first of the day, and
Ethan Olson's goal put the Saints on top 4-0 after one quarter. The Hawks scored their first two goals in the second quarter but Maryville held a 4-2 edge at the break.

Quincy pulled to within 4-3 on a goal at the 13:59 mark. However, the Maryville defense took over and did not give up another score the rest of the way. Wenck found the back of the net just 21 seconds into the fourth, and he followed up again only 28 seconds later for a 6-3 lead. Cerett fired in consecutive goals within a minute early in the fourth to seal the victory.

The Saints only gave up two shots on goal in the second half, and
Stephen DeSantis made six saves on the day to record the victory in net.
