St. Louis –
Tyler Wenck fired in a career-high six goals, tied for the fifth most in program history, to power the Maryville men's lacrosse team to a 17-12 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Davenport. The Saints scored six straight goals in the first quarter to grab a lead they never surrendered.
Zach Baker notched a hat trick to go with two assists, while
Declan Mulholland had four assists to supplement the Maryville offensive attack.

The Panthers scored the first goal of the game before the Saints roared back.
Joel Lucas tied the game at 1-1 before back-to-back scores by
Zach Baker pushed Maryville on top 3-1.
Aidan Koenig scored, followed by
Connor Eskridge and
Ethan Olson for a 6-1 advantage after 15 minutes. Â

Maryville's defense held Davenport without a goal for nearly 17 minutes before the visitors finally scored their second goal. Wenck scored his first goal with just 67 seconds left before halftime as the Saints went up 8-3.

After a Koenig man-up goal to start the third, Davenport scored twice.
Reid Usrey and Wenck answered for the Saints and an 11-5 cushion. The Panthers tallied back-to-back goals but, again, Maryville responded with scores by Olson and Wenck.

Wenck scored the last goal of the third, the first goal in the fourth quarter, and yet another goal put the Saints up 16-9 with just over seven minutes to play. Baker's third goal of the day built a 17-10 lead with 2:46 remaining to seal the victory.
Cooper George won 12 of 18 face-offs to spark the offense, while
Stephen DeSantis made a season-high 13 saves in net to garner the win.
