Owensboro, Ky. – The Maryville women's volleyball team ran its winning streak to six matches on the first day of the Kentucky Wesleyan Tournament. The run is the longest by the Saints since the 1999 team won 12 straight matches and continues the best start to a season since 1993. Saints rallied past Tiffin 23-25, 25-19, 25-10, 25-22 to start play in Owensboro, Ky., then swept past Lincoln Memorial 25-18, 25-16, 25-21.

After the Dragons took a 1-0 lead, the Saints took set two to even the match. Maryville turned a 13-11 deficit to a 15-11 lead. Tiffin tied the set at 15-15 but the Saints took control with six straight points. Maryville dominated set three with a .308 hitting percentage while holding the Dragons to just a -.048 mark. Grace Graham kill sparked a 6-0 run. Another 5-0 run sealed the set three win. In the final set, Maryville held a 15-13 edge but tallied three straight to move to an 18-13 cushion. Tiffin made a late push but Brinkmann's kill ended the match.

Grace Knadler both served up four aces. Tied 6-6 in set one, the Saints reeled off five straight points to take control. Still up 12-8, Maryville took command with another 5-0 burst. In set two, the Saints were tied 2-2 but went on a 7-0 burst that quickly ballooned to double digits. LMU took a 7-3 lead early in set three but the Saints responded with 10 straight points. LMU chipped away at Maryville's lead but the Saints held on to post their third sweep of the season.
