Liberty, Mo. – Despite four players recording double-digit kills, the Maryville women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision at William Jewell Friday evening. The Saints won set one 25-18 but the host Cardinals rallied in the next three sets 25-20, 25-22, 25-23.
Taylor Hasbrook recorded a career-high 33 digs for the Saints.

The Saints hit .279 while holding the Cardinals to a .105 mark. Maryville was down 13-8 before the Saint reeled off 10 straight points. After a WJC hitting error,
Caroline Glastetter and
Ella Brinkmann notched consecutive kills. The Saints defense forced two more errors as the Saints surged. Three kills in a row put the Saints up by five as Maryville took the opener.

The Cardinals led for most of set two and were up 21-18. Back-to-back kills by
Karolina Rodowski and
Grace Graham pulled the Saints to within 21-20. However, WJC scored the final four points to even the match. William Jewell led 7-5 but a 4-0 put the Saints down by six. Maryville stayed close and crept to within 17-16. The Cardinals went back up 23-18 but the Saints never got back within three points.

The fourth set was close throughout and WJC held the advantage up to 23-21.
Taylor Keck had a kill to pull the Saints to 23-22. At set point,
Hanna Dressing put down a kill to cut the gap to 24-23. However, the Cardinals won the next point to take the match.
Ella Brinkmann notched a double-double with 16 kills and 11 digs. Glastetter had 13 kills while hitting .296, while Graham and Keck both added 10 kills apiece.
