Drew Rogers put up 10 kills but the Maryville men's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision at Central State Saturday afternoon. The Marauders took the match 25-21, 25-19, 19-25, 25-15.
Luke Van Handel led the defense with seven digs, while
David Fleischer recorded five blocks.

Central State recap
The Saints were down 11-9 in the first set but scored three straight to take the lead. A solo block by
Jacob Fischer was good for a 12-11 edge. The teams traded points until
Victor Ganev's kill put Maryville ahead 16-15. However, Central State scored three straight to jump ahead. The Saints pulled to within 21-20 on a service error but the Marauders used another 3-0 to take the lead for good.

In the second set, Central State scored the first six points before
Cameron Chambers got the Saints on the scoreboard. Â
Caden Klingbeil served an ace to pull the Saints to within 9-6. Later, Rogers put down a kill and
David Fleischer's solo rejection drew the Saints to 19-15.
Luke Van Handel's kill made the score 21-17 but the Saints never got any closer.

Maryville took the lead in set three by scoring four of the first five points. CSU edged in front but three straight points put the Saints on top. CSU answered and led 17-16 before the Saints took over. Maryville went on a 5-0 run to grab a 21-17 margin. It was 22-19 but Rogers had two kills as the Saints scored the final three points of the set to pull the set score to 2-1.

The fourth set saw CSU up 7-3 until Van Handel had a kill. The teams traded points before the Marauders scored four of five points and inch out to a 17-10 lead. CSU put the set away with a 5-1 run and hand the Saints their second loss in Ohio.
