Romeoville, Ill. – Taking on its second straight ranked team, Maryville men's volleyball was tripped up by No. 15 Lewis as the Flyers took a 25-21, 25-16, 25-15 decision.
Jacob Fischer led the Saints with seven kills and hit .600 for the second straight match.
Cameron Chambers had 13 assists and a team-high seven digs.

Lewis led 7-6 before the Flyers committed an error,
Drew Rogers served an ace, and another miscue by LU led to a 9-7 edge for the Saints. Lewis pushed ahead before
Cameron Chambers tipped in a kill to pull Maryville to 14-13. However, the Flyers scored four straight. The Saints used a 4-2 run and got to within 20-18. Two straight Lewis errors drew the Saints to within 21-20 but the Flyers tallied four of the final five points.

Set two was tied at 5-5 until Lewis used a 4-0 burst to take the lead. The hosts led 11-7 after a Maryville point but the Flyers scored five straight to stretch their advantage. The Saints made a late push with on a Lewis error, a Chambers service ace and a block by Jayden Rookheyzen and
Jacob Fischer. Lewis held on to take a 2-0 led.

The Saints fell behind in set three before
Jacob Fischer's kill cut the deficit to 3-1. The Saints used a 4-2 spree to close the gap.
Victor Ganev and Fischer had kills. After a Lewis point, Fischer had another kill before Rogers and Fischer teamed up on a block to draw the Saints to within 10-8. Maryville was down just 15-11 after scoring a point. Lewis scored five straight to take command of the set and the match.
