ST. LOUIS – Maryville University celebrated three seniors before a 7-0 win over Upper Iowa University on Sunday afternoon.
Tim Smith tallied a pair of goals while
Gavin Kalish and
Pedro Meidanis both picked up their first career goals.
Run of Play:
- Senior Tim Smith started the scoring in the 10th minute by taking a pass from Quinn Connolly off a short hop and shooting it past a diving goalkeeper for a 1-0 advantage.
- In the 15th minute, Jimmy Doherty found Gavin Kalish in the middle of the box and he put a deflected shot into the top-right corner of the goal to make it 2-0.
- Mason Crew continued to add on at 21:35, scoring from outside the box on a low shot to the right side.
- Early in the second half, Yayo Mutombo tried to go to the top shelf on a shot off a pass from Luca Bartoni. The goalkeeper got a piece of the attempt, but the ball bounced past him to the right.
- Smith added his second of the game and seventh of the season in the 64th minute off Bartoni's second assist of the afternoon.
- A pair of freshmen tallied the sixth goal of the game for the Saints when Pedro Meidanis headed Leyson Losada's corner kick into the net at 71:07.
- Bartoni capped off his four-point performance with a goal in the 89th minute off an assist from freshman defender Shimon Hayun.
