ST. LOUIS – Maryville men's soccer draws with McKendree University 0-0 on a windy Friday afternoon. The Saints are now 7-1-3 overall in 2023 and 4-1-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Run of Play:
- Nick Hemann made his first save of the game at 15:37 when Olle Ridelius put a low shot on goal.
- Gabe Hallsten had a good scoring chance in the 24th minute but he was blocked by a Maryville defender.
- McKendree outshot the Saints six to one in the first half, forcing Hemann to make two saves.
- Rhys Davies tested Hemann again early in the second half, but he turned away a low shot for his third.
- Maryville put their only shot on goal of the game when Mason Crew tried to win the game at 89:46, but he was denied by Christian Herluf.
Game Notes:
- Maryville and McKendree have tied in their last three matchups. Additionally, the Saints have not lost to the Bearcats since Oct. 14, 2018.
- Nick Hemann logged his third shutout of the season and his second consecutive. His last goal surrendered was at 63:14 on Sept. 29, against William Jewell.
