St. Louis – The Maryville volleyball squad saw its four-match winning streak end but it took No. 25 Rockhurst to snap the run. The Hawks prevailed 25-18, 14-25, 25-19, 25-19.
Makenna Brauman paced the Saints with 13 kills and hit .370, and
Taylor Hasbrook had her 10th straight match with at least 20 digs as she finished with 22.

The Saints edged out to a 17-15 lead in set one on
Grace Graham's kill. The Hawks responded with six straight points to grab the lead.
Hanna Dressing had a kill to end the run but the Saints never got any closer. Rockhurst was up 9-8 before the Saints stormed ahead with five consecutive points. Brauman had two straight kills to put the Saints on top. She teamed with Dressing for a block, and the Hawks committed an error. Another termination by Brauman pushed the lead to 13-9. The Hawks scored but the Saints tacked on a 6-0 burst to take control and even the match. Maryville held Rockhurst to a .000 hitting percentage in the set.

The Hawks took a narrow early lead and held it for most of set three. Trailing by three, RU committed an error before
Regina Elguezabal served an ace to close the gap to 12-11. Rockhurst had a service error as Maryville got to within 15-14 but the Hawks scored five of the next six points to take the match lead 2-1. In the fourth, kills by
Caroline Glastetter and
Ella Brinkmann handed the Saints a 4-1 lead. The Hawks tied the set at 5-5 but went ahead by an 8-5 count.
Lynsey Batson's kill pulled Maryville to 8-7 but the visitors tallied three straight. The Saints stayed close and a solo block by
Hanna Dressing cut the RU lead to just 13-12. The Hawks edged to a 16-13 advantage before an RU miscue pulled the Saints to within two points. Rockhurst scored four straight and eventually closed out the match.
