Box Score Williamsville, Ill. – The Maryville volleyball team won the program's first Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament match in stunning fashion as the No. 6 seeded Saints upset No. 3 Quincy 3-1 in the GLVC Quarterfinals. Maryville downed the No. 21 nationally-ranked Hawks 25-22, 20-25, 25-22, 25-13. The Saints advance to the GLVC Tournament semifinals where they will take on No. 2 seed Lewis in a 5:30 pm match. The victory is also Maryville's 17th of the season, to tie the program's Division II record for wins set last year.

Holding a slim 12-11 lead in the opening set, the Saints reeled off three straight points.
Hanna Dressing had a kill, and after a QU error,
Caroline Glastetter pounded down a kill for a 15-11 advantage. The teams traded points until the Hawks closed to 19-18.
Grace Graham and
Grace Knadler combined on a crucial block that pushed the edge back to 20-18. The Hawks answered with three straight to take a 21-20 lead. Maryville rallied with its own 4-0 run capped by
Abbie Schnell's ace to earn set point at 24-21. QU saved one but Glastetter's kill gave the Saints the 25-22 win.

Set two was tied at 9-9 before the Saints tallied four straight. Graham bookended the run with kills as Maryville went up 13-9. The Hawks tied the score at 14-14 but Brinkmann and Knadler put the Saints on top 17-15. Quincy scored six of the next seven points to surge into the lead.
Makenna Brauman had a kill that cut the deficit to 21-19 but the Hawks eventually tied the match at 1-1.

Maryville grabbed the early lead in the third set by scoring six of the first seven points. Quincy chipped away at the deficit and tied the set at 11-all. The Hawks took a small lead but a kill by Glastetter and a QU error tied matters at 15-15. Still deadlocked at 19-19, the Saints recorded three consecutive kills. Glastetter started the burst and Brinkmann's back-to-back kills were good for a 22-19 advantage. QU closed to within 22-21 but Maryville tallied three of the next four points to take the set 25-22 and a 2-1 match lead.

The Saints roared out of the gate to start set four by scoring the first nine points. Glastetter had a kill to start the run and
Alyssa Koska served three aces to key the burst. Quincy final scored but the Saints followed up with a 5-0 burst to go up by a 14-1 score. The Saints eventually stretched their lead to as much as 20-5 before easing to the upset win.

Brinkmann and Glastetter tied for the team lead with 13 kills apiece. Brinkmann completed a double-double with 21 digs. Dressing hit .412 and had four blocks.
Taylor Hasbrook finished with 24 digs, while
Abbie Schnell also had a double-double with 31 assists and 13 digs. Koska continued her serving prowess and was key with four service aces.
