UNION LAKE, Mich. – After a road split at Niagara University, Maryville rolled into Thanksgiving as the 10
th-ranked team in the American Collegiate Hockey Association. The Saints won 5-1 on Saturday, Nov. 18, on the road against Niagara University, but fell 5-3 the following day. Â
Â
Maryville has ranked wins this season against No. 7 Ohio, No. 8 Niagara, and No. 9 Liberty to help their computerized ranking.
Sam Edwards currently leads the team in points with 13 and scored the third goal in Friday's 5-3 win over Niagara.
Â
"There are a lot of quality hockey teams this year in our league," said Head Hockey Coach
John Hogan. "As you can see from our games and games around the league, most notably this past weekend at the Chicago showcase, anyone can beat anyone on any given night. It is a fun time to be a top team in our league – great parity."
Â
Maryville is halfway through its season with 17 games left. Using the most current rankings, the lowest-ranked team the Saints will play is No. 19 Arizona. Before Christmas break, the Saints will take on 18
th-ranked Missouri State in Springfield, Mo., and No. 14 Indiana Tech.
