ST. LOUIS – Maryville University baseball rallied back from three runs in the fifth inning to complete a 13-5 win over Saginaw Valley State University on Saturday afternoon.
Michael Gould hit a monstrous grand slam in the sixth inning to spark four more runs being tallied for the Saints.

Maryville started off game two of the series with a lead-off home run in the first inning by
Jack Zebig. Saginaw Valley responded with a run in the third off an RBI double.
The Saints' second homerun came in the fourth inning by
Jacob Hager who hit his second of the series, a blast to right field, giving the team a one-run lead. The only deficit of the afternoon for the Saints came in the fifth inning when Saginaw hit a grand slam to put the Saints down three.
In the fifth inning,
Elias Stevens knocked in one run off a single to the pitcher. Zebig also scored off an error in the same play. The Saints continued to build off the runs in the fifth inning when
Matt Arnold drove in a run, tying the ballgame at five-a-piece in the sixth.
Michael Gould then stepped up to the plate and crushed a grand slam, giving the Saints a 9-5 edge over the Cardinals.
The Saints scored one more off a
Jacob Hager double to left-center, and then plated three more runs in the seventh. Maryville continued to add runs while
Noah Arras and
Noah Leingang finished a 13-5 win with scoreless outings from the bullpen.
