St. Louis – The Maryville University men's volleyball team dominated University Health Sciences & Pharmacy in a road 3-0 victory. The Saints prevailed 25-16, 25-17, 25-20.
Victor Ganev and
Caden Klingbeil led the Saints with seven kills apiece. Maryville's defense held its second consecutive opponent to a negative hitting percentage as the Eutectics were at -.034.

The Saints scored the first three points of the match. Klingbeil had a kill, and after UHSP error, Klingbeil and
Jacob Fischer had a block. Maryville scored another three straight points to pull ahead.
Cole Torrence,
Drew Rogers and Klingbeil pounded down three consecutive kills as the Saint took control at 10-4. A 5-0 burst extended the edge to double digits as Maryville cruised to the win.

In the second set, UHSP took a 5-3 edge before the Saints ripped off an 8-0 run to surge in front. The Maryville defense forced five straight errors, including a pair of blocks. Kills by
David Fleischer and Klingbeil and an ace were good for an 11-5 lead. UHSP closed to within three points but the Saints had the answer. Ganev had two straight kills, and Torrence factored in on back-to-back blocks to build a 17-11 lead. A late 4-0 run sealed the win as the Saints held UHSP to a -167 hitting percentage in the set.

The hosts led early in set three and held a 12-8 margin. Fischer had a kill to start a 4-0 run.
Jayden Rookhuyzen's kill tied the score at 12-all. The Saints edged ahead and were up 18-15 after another kill by Rookhuyzen. The Saints went up 22-16 but the Eutectics closed to 22-20. The Saints tallied three straight to end the match.
