NORMANDY, Mo. – Maryville University defeated the University of Missouri – St. Louis 15-2 in Tuesday afternoon's baseball game. The Saints were led by
Michael Gould's five RBI and home runs from
Andy Bunton and
Zeb Roos.

The Tritons took an early lead in the first with a line-drive two-run home run off Maryville starter
Noah Leingang. The freshman starter settled in from there, allowing just two runs over three innings, two hits, and one walk with two strikeouts.

Matt Arnold singled in the second to bring home
Jacob Hager to pull the Saints within one. In the fourth,
Andy Bunton led off the frame with his fourth home run of the year to tie the game. Maryville proceeded to load the bases with two outs for
Elias Stevens who ripped a two-run single to give his team a 4-2 advantage.

In the top of the fifth, the Saints again loaded the bases, this time for
Michael Gould. Gould fell behind 0-2 before crushing a grand slam deep over the wall in left-center.
Zeb Roos and Stevens then hit consecutive doubles to extend the lead to 9-2.

Maryville loaded the bases for the third consecutive inning in the sixth and brought in a run when Arnold was hit by a pitch. An RBI walk from
Jack Zebig brought in the 11
th run, followed by an RBI fielder's choice from Gould and a three-run home run by Roos to make it 15 runs.

Ryan Hoshaw and
Nick Schmidt combined for four scoreless innings out of the bullpen, completing a 15-2 victory for the Saints on Tuesday.
