Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Maryville men's lacrosse team had its second biggest goal output of the season in a 16-7 Great Lakes Valley Conference road win at Davenport.
Joel Lucas fired in four goals, while
Justin Simonson recorded six points on two goals and four assists. The Maryville defense shut out Davenport for nearly 26 minutes to pull away.
Shea Raeburn won 12-of-13 at the dot to help the Saints establish their offense.

Davenport recap
The score was tied at 3-3 at the start of the second quarter but the Saints took control by scoring four times and shutting out the Panthers in the 15-minute segment. Lucas scored 45 seconds into the second for a 4-3 edge.
Clayton Cerett and Lucas tallied three minutes apart.
David Yakel tallied just before halftime as the Saints grabbed a 7-3 advantage at the break. The Saints had 14 shots in the quarter, earned 12 ground balls and won all five face-offs to key the burst.

Usrey opened the scoring one minute into the third. The Panthers pulled one score back but the Saints reeled off three straight to reestablish themselves. Lucas notched a man-up tally and Yakel notched his second of the day.
Matt Martyn found the back of the net for an 11-4 cushion after three. Davenport closed to within 12-6 with 10 minutes to play but the Saints reeled off four unanswered to seal the victory. Cerett and Martyn both finished with hat tricks to bolster the Maryville attack.

The 16 goals are the most since the Saints poured in 17 against Walsh at home Saturday, Feb. 18.
