ST. LOUIS, Mo. –
Matt Arnold and
Jacob Hager led Maryville to a 17-10 win over Truman State University on Friday afternoon. The Saints open the series with the Bulldogs with a win behind 10 combined RBI from Arnold and Hager.

After falling behind on a Truman State home run in the top of the first,
Michael Gould singled home a run in the second to cut the lead to one.
Jacob Hager picked up his first RBI of the afternoon on a fielder's choice in the third, followed later by a three-run home run from catcher
Matt Arnold.
Now trailing 5-2, the Bulldogs scored one in the fourth and three in the fifth to take back a 6-5 lead. In the bottom half of the fifth, Arnold restored his team's lead with a two-RBI double to left center. He and
Camden Ruby came around to score on
Jack Zebig's double.
Elias Stevens made it 11-6 with another two-RBI double.
A grand slam in the sixth pulled the visitors back to within one, but the Saints continued to tack on runs in the seventh and eighth. Stevens and Schuler singled in runs while Hager homered and singled in runs to extend the lead to 17-10.
Drake Downing came in for a three-inning save, quieting the Bulldog bats to the tune of two hits, no earned runs, and three strikeouts. The redshirt sophomore from Waterloo, Ill., earns the first save of his career while
Philip Reinhardt picked up the win.
