Louck Limits Truman State to One Run in 4-1 Victory

ST. LOUIS, Mo.  – The Maryville University baseball tallied a 4-1 victory over Truman State after a solid outing on the mound from Ryan Louck. Louck tossed 6.1 innings with five strikeouts and one earned run, leading the squad to their 27th victory of the year.

Coming off a 17-3 victory on Saturday, the Saints struck first with a run in the bottom of the fourth. Jack Zebig crossed the plate to put the Saints up 1-0 after a balk from Truman State. In the next inning, Nick Hofmann collected the first RBI of the game with a shot down the left field line, scoring Zeb Roos.
 
With the Saints up 2-0 after six innings, Roos knocked a single to center, scoring Elias Stevens to put the Saints up 3-0. Truman scored their lone run of the game in the top of the seventh inning off a sacrifice fly ball to center field, cutting the lead to 3-1.
 
Zebig hit a shot to left field in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring Matt Arnold and increasing the lead to 4-1 against the Bulldogs.
 
Louck tossed an impressive game for the Saints, going 6.1 innings on 88 pitches.  The graduate student gathered five strikeouts and allowed one earned run to pick up his fourth victory. He additionally set the new program record in most appearances (56) and innings pitched (234.2).

Noah Arras also threw 1.2 innings and struck out two batters. Ben Prywitch got his fifth save on the year after a scoreless inning with one strikeout.
