ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Maryville University earned two wins in doubleheader action on Saturday after a walk-off by
Elias Stevens and a dominant pitching performance from
Jamie Young.

Game One Recap
After a lightning delay to begin Saturday's set of games, Maryville was set to face Missouri S&T in a doubleheader match Saturday afternoon. Missouri S&T saw the game's first run off a single to put the Miners up 1-0. The Saints struck back with a run of their own in the bottom of the first off a single by Stevens to score
Jack Zebig. Continuing a strong first inning, Stevens crossed the plate off of a
Zeb Roos steal to second, putting the baseball squad up two.

Missouri S&T took the lead in the top of the fifth after they drove in two runs, putting the Saints down one. Maryville responded in the bottom of the fifth after Stevens crushed a home run to right field, tying the game at three apiece. Stevens then walked off the game for the Saints in the last inning after he ripped a double to left-center, scoring
Michael Gould.

On the bump for the Saints was
Ben Gregory who tossed three strikeouts and only allowed one hit.
Ben Prywitch got the win for the Saints after tossing 4.1 innings with one strikeout and allowing only two earned runs.

Game Two Recap
Coming off an exciting walk-off in game one, the Saints came out swinging in game two of the doubleheader. In the bottom of the second,
Michael Long destroyed a home run to left field, hitting the scoreboard and scoring
Jacob Hager and Roos to put the Saints up three runs. Missouri S&T then put a run on the board in the top of the third.

In the bottom of the third inning,
Matt Schuler walked to score Zebig, increasing the lead to 4-1 for the Saints. Missouri S&T put up their second run of game two in the top of the fourth, shortening the lead to 4-2. In the top of the sixth,
Camden Ruby blasted a ball to left field as insurance before the Saints closed out the game with a 5-2 victory.

Jamie Young had a great day on the mound for the Saints, tossing seven complete innings and allowing only two runs. Young tallied four strikeouts in game two, gaining the victory in the last home doubleheader series of the regular season.
