The Maryville wrestling team was in action in two locations Sunday, Jan. 14. The Saints dropped a decision to the number one team in the nation, Central Oklahoma, Sunday in Edmond, Okla. UCO, which has seven individuals ranked, took the dual match 42-4. Maryville also had a small squad at the Roger Denker Open hosted by Central Missouri.

In the UCO dual, the Bronchos took the first five matches before
Cole Ritter went extra time at 165. He had two early takedowns of No. 12 ranked Hunter Jump. However, Jump rallied to tie the match in the third. In sudden victory, Ritter was taken down to end the contest.
Jeremiah Larson picked up a victory for the Saints at 197. He rolled to a 16-7 major to put four points on the board for the Saints.

At Central Missouri,
Luke Ebers led the Saints efforts in Warrensburg. He dropped his opening match at 157 but battled back in the consolation draw. Ebers posted a 7-2 win then followed with a 19-1 tech fall. He took a 7-4 sudden victory decision, then advanced to the third-place match with a walkover. However, Ebers was edged out 4-2 and took fourth place.

The Saints are next in action as they head to Central Missouri for a dual match Sunday, Jan. 21.
