St. Louis – The Maryville men's volleyball team defeated Lindenwood 3-1 in a thriller Thursday night. Maryville prevailed 26-24, 25-22, 25-27, 25-22. Luke Kraft had 10 kills, Cameron Chambers handed out 27 assists, while Cameron Lee recorded 10 digs to lead the way.

The first set featured nine ties and the Saints edged out to a 23-21 lead. The Lions answered and got to set point at 24-23. Makai Scott tied the set with a kill, and David Fleischer followed to give Maryville a set point. Kraft pounded down the kill to give the Saints a 26-24 in the opener.
 
Set two was tied at 15-15 before the Lions had a service error, and Fleischer put down a kill for a 17-15 edge. Maryville went up 19-16 but Lindenwood tied the set at 20-all. Cameron Lee had a kill to push the Saints back ahead, and the Lions committed two straight errors. The Saints had set point at 24-22, and the Lions had a service error to end the set 25-22.
 
The Saints sprinted out of the gate to begin set three by scoring the first seven points. The Lions trimmed the deficit down to 16-14 but Kraft and Scott both had kills for a four-point lead. Lindenwood tied the set at 19-19 but Chambers tipped in a ball, and Lee had a solo block for a 21-19 edge. Maryville had two match points but the Lions saved them both and eventually took the set 27-25.
 
The fourth set has nine ties and five lead changes as the Lions were looking to extend the match. The Saints were down one but LU had an error, and Lee served an ace to put Maryville up 22-21. The Lions tied the score at 22-all before the Saints took control. Scott had a kill, and Kraft followed for a match point. This time Maryville converted as Kraft hammered a pass to end the match 25-22.
 
Scott finished with nine kills, while Fleischer had eight and hit .462 to highlight the night for Maryville.
