Normandy, Mo. – Behind a season-high 20 points from
Luke Williams, the Maryville men's basketball squad extended its winning streak to five with a 65-62 victory at Missouri-St. Louis.
Tutu Chisholm added 10 points grabbed a team--leading six rebounds. The Saints have won five straight Great Lakes Valley Conference games for the first time since January 2018.

Starting the second half trailing 32-31,
Anthony Holden sank a 3-pointer, and
Dewayne Vass added two free throws. After an UMSL bucket,
JT Morgan drained a 3-pointer for a 39-34 lead. The Tritons got to within 39-38 but
Davis Walker and Williams hit back-to-back triples to push the margin to 45-48. UMSL got a bucket back before Chisholm sank a short jumper.
A long 3-pointer by Air Jackson built a 50-40 advantage. Williams hit a short jumper and a 3-pointer as the Saints stayed in front by double-digits at 57-47 with 6:44 reaming. UMSL made a push and cut the deficit to 61-55 but Williams again had the answer. He made one free throw for a 65-59 lead with 57 seconds to go. The Tritons sank a 3-pointer in the final minute. UMSL had an attempt in the final frantic seconds but misfired. The Tritons got the ball back but never got a final shot off before the buzzer.
