Carsyn Fearday knocked down two free throws with 3.2 seconds left as the Maryville women's basketball team edged past Missouri-St. Louis 67-65. The Tritons had a layup at the buzzer but
Karlee Feldman blocked the shot to preserve the victory. Fearday and
Haidyn Pitsch both tallied 18 points apiece to pace the Saints to their fifth straight win. Feldman resumed her double-double run with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

The Saints trailed 64-60 with 2:44 to go before Feldman scored on a layup. UMSL made one free throw to go back up 65-62 with 1:23 to play. Feldman made the first of two free throws with 59.2 ticks left to play. After the second free throw was missed,
Annika Pluemer grabbed the offensive rebound, and Feldman converted a layup with 51.4 seconds to tie the game at 65-all.

The Saints defense forced an UMSL miss, and Feldman grabbed the defensive rebound. Fearday drove down the right side of the lane and was fouled with 3.2 seconds left. The senior calmly swished both pressure charity attempts to provide the winning points.

Maryville scored the first eight points of the game as the defense shut out the Tritons for nearly the opening five minutes. The Saints led by as many as 10 points and settled for a 20-12 lead after the first quarter. The Tritons got as close as two points but Pitsch went on a personal 7-0 run to put Maryville up 28-19.
Madyson Rigdon sandwiched two layups around a Pitsch triple as the Saints led 35-23. Maryville's margin was 35-25 at the half.

The Saints were still up 43-35 midway through the third but UMSL scored nine straight to take its first lead of the day. Pitsch twice sank 3-pointers to answer the Tritons. Two free throws by Fearday gave the Saints a 51-50 lead to end the third, and
Jenna Cotter's layup began the fourth quarter for a 53-50 lead. The teams traded the lead four more times until UMSL took a 62-58 lead with 3:23 to play and set up the frantic finish.
