St. Louis – The Maryville men's basketball led for a majority of the game but visiting Missouri-St. Louis rallied in the second half to down the Saints 70-62.
Ari Jackson topped Maryville with a season-best 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point range.
Dewayne Vass added 15 points, led the team with eight rebounds and added five assists.
Davis Walker also had a season high with 10 points and added six boards. The Saints, who held the lead for nearly 25 minutes, drained 10 3-pointers on the day.
Missouri-St. Louis recap
The Saints jumped on top by scoring the first seven points of the game. Vass opened the game with consecutive layups, and
Luke Williams drained a 3-pointer to push the Saints ahead 7-0. The Tritons slowly chipped into the Maryville edge and closed to within 22-20.
Davis Walker and Jackson splashed in consecutive treys for a 28-20 lead. Chisholm had a three-point play as the Saints took their largest lead of the day at 33-24. However, UMSL scored the final six points to chip the Maryville margin to 33-30.

The Tritons opened the second half with a 7-2 run to their first lead of the day at 37-35. The Saints responded with three straight layups to edge back on top 41-37. A Walker layup was good for a 45-42 margin but UMSL came back with eight straight points. Walker added another basket to pull the Saints to within 50-48 with 8:47 to play. However, UMSL responded with a 12-2 burst to pull away. The Saints made one last push and got as close as 69-62 in the final minute.
