St. Louis – To kick off 2024, the Maryville women's basketball team led wire-to-wire and cruised to a 73-50 victory over against visiting Missouri-St. Louis Wednesday afternoon.
Karlee Feldman notched a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead four Saints in double figure scoring. Maryville shot 56.4 percent to key the win.

The Saints opened the game by scoring the game's first five points and stretched their advantage to 11-2.
Karlee Feldman powered up for a layup, and
Antoinette Mussorici completed a three-point play. UMSL scored but Feldman,
Carsyn Fearday and
Gracie Stugart all knocked down jumpers for an 11-2 margin. The lead was still 16-6 before Maryville scored the last five points of the period to build a 21-6 cushion. UMSL got as close as 32-23 but a
Faith Hawthorne bucket pushed the advantage to 38-25 and the Saints took a 40-27 margin into the break.

The Tritons inched back to within single digits at 44-35 but
Faith Hawthorne drilled a 3-pointer to start a 7-0 run. Mussorici had consecutive buckets for a 55-41 until the Tritons pulled to deficit to 55-45 entering the fourth quarter. Feldman sandwiched layups around a Stugart triple to extend the margin back to 62-45. The Saints salted the game away by scoring the final 10 points. Feldman hit 7-of-8 shots, while Hawthorne converted seven of her nine attempts and tied her career best of 15 points. Mussorici scored 16 points and tied her career high with eight assists.
