Liberty, Mo. – Fueled by a career-high 27 kills from
Ella Brinkmann, the Maryville volleyball team flew past William Jewell 23-25, 25-23, 25-13, 25-16. She added 17 digs to complete a double-double while recording a .359 hitting percentage.
Emma Hoing had a season high for kills and finished with 17 on a .325 hitting mark, while
Taylor Hasbrook notched 22 digs.

How it Happened
The Cardinals posted their highest hitting percentage of the match and held off the Saints to take the opening set. Maryville scored seven straight points midway through the second set to grab a 21-15 lead. WJC charged back and cut the gap to just one. Brinkmann had a kill to reach set point, and Hoing hammered a kill for a 25-23 win.

The Saints scored five of the first six points of set three and were still up 13-11 before reeling off five unanswered points.
Hanna Dressing started the run, and a block by
Makenna Brauman and
Josey Wahlers pushed the margin to 18-11. Brinkmann hammered down five consecutive kills before a finish by
Payton Mandac pulled Maryville to set point. Another kill by Brinkmann ended the set at 25-13.

Maryville's margin in set four stood at 9-5 until a kill by Hoing sparked a 6-0 burst. An error by WJC put the Saints ahead 15-5. The Cardinals got to as close as five points but the Saints sealed the win with six of the next seven points. A Dressing kill ended the match at 25-16.
