Hammond, Ind. – The Maryville volleyball team looked to close the Midwest Crossover Tournament on a high note but Hillsdale held off the Saints 25-23, 30-28, 25-18. During the match,
Taylor Hasbrook surpassed the 2,000-dig milestone for her career, becoming just the second Saint to do so.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set one was close throughout and the Saints took a 17-15 lead after a kill by
Josey Wahlers and an ace by Hasbrook. Hillsdale scored four straight but Maryville answered with three consecutive points.

Emma Hoing followed with one. A Charger hitting error gave the Saints a 20-19 lead. Tied at 21-all, Hillsdale tallied three-in-a-row to reach set point. The Saints save two straight but the Chargers converted for a 25-23 decision.

The second set was deadlocked at 13-13 until Maryville went on a 5-0 spree.
Lily Brown started the run with a kill, Dressing served an ace, and Hillsdale had an error. Wahlers dropped in a kill, and after another Dressing ace, the Saints were up 18-13. The Saints had set point at 24-22 but the Chargers tied the score at 24-all. Brinkmann's kill put Maryville up 28-27 but the Chargers scored three straight to take the set.

Maryville edged ahead in set three and went up 12-11. The Chargers went on an 8-1 burst and took the lead. Brinkmann had a kill, and after a block by Domian and
Gracie Newell, Domian put down a kill to pull the Saints to 19-16. However, that would be as close as the Saints would get.
