ST. LOUIS – It was a career day for
Omar Cilic of Maryville men's soccer. The freshman from Affton, Mo. tallied not only his first collegiate goal of his career, but his first multi-goal game as well, scoring twice as the Saints drew with the Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars Sunday afternoon.
Â
Yayo Mutombo and
Bryce Glisson both tallied assists as Cilic scored at both the 8th minute and the 15th minute of the contest
HOW IT HAPPENED
Just four minutes into the contest, the Saints faced their first goal deficit since their matchup with Missouri S&T on Sept. 27, as the Prairie Stars found the back of the net, sliding one past Steen Nielson.
Â
It did not take long for the Saints to equalize and retake the lead as Cilic finished two great passes into the goal, leaving it 2-1 at the break.
Â
Â
Out of halftime, UIS got on their horse, scoring the equalizer at the 64th. With the action knotted and the sun cooking the turf, the game got chippy as four yellows – two on each squad – and a red card on UIS was handed out before the game ended.

UP NEXT
