ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – It seemed destined for a draw as the Maryville men's soccer team faced off against Lewis in Romeoville, Ill. But as the sun set,
Mason Crew delivered the breakthrough with a stunning strike from just outside the box in the 87th minute, securing a 1-0 victory for the Saints.
The win for the Saints is massive for the upcoming GLVC tournament as now with the victory over the Flyers sends them flying up the rankings from fourth place to second place in the GLVC with an opportunity to host their first-round matchup.
HOW IT HAPPENED

The defensive battle continued into the second half, but the game opened up in the closing minutes. Crew found space outside the box and drilled a shot into the upper corner for the decisive goal. Lewis threatened soon after, but
