NORMANDY, Mo. – In a battle of crosstown foes, the Maryville women's soccer team came out on top, securing their sixth-straight victory in GLVC-action, beating the Missouri-St. Louis Tritons 3-0. It is now the fifth clean sheet of the season for the Saints.

The winning effort also keeps the multi-goal streak for the Saints going as they have scored two or more goals in every contest this season.

Three less familiar faces found the goals column in the contest as
Ulrika Bredin,
Paige Barry and
Nika Vemdal played the part in the bout.
As for freshman keeper
Agnes Vilen, it was excellence once again as she tallied four saves on nine shots on goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
As it has been all season, the Saints gameplan was to attack early. Just a minute and 18 seconds in,
Elsa Nilson-Hurtig grabbed the first shot the game. Shots by
Tori Calvert,
Lexi Gentry and
Maddie Dickerman kept the pressure on. It was eventually Bredin, with a long-distance bomb, that broke the draw.

The third goal of the season for Bredin was just the start as
Paige Barry grabbed her second goal of the season with just minutes left in the half.

Vemdal's goal in the second highlighted the end of the scoring for the day as the senior from Gothenburg, Sweden moves to 11 in her career as a Saint.
