ST. LOUIS –
Caden Krohn reached a career high with 17 points as the Maryville women's basketball team dominated University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy 102-52 Monday morning. She sank her first seven attempts from the field and completed a double-double with 10 rebounds, also a career best.
Claire Rake and
Lindsey Schadewalt both finished with 14 points apiece.
Olivia Hahn led the Saints on the boards with 11, while
Kamryn Winch hauled down 10 caroms.
Gracie Stugart handed out eight assists on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Maryville scored 19 straight points in the second quarter to take control of the contest. Rake drilled a 3-pointer to start the run, and
Annika Pluemer knocked down a jumper. Krohn took over with seven straight points.
Gracie Stugart had a layup, and
Adylan Ayer scored inside.
Madyson Rigdon's bucket put the Saints on top 41-22. The Saints defense shut out UHSP for more than six minutes before giving up a bucket. Maryville then tallied 10 more points and grabbed a 51-26 edge at halftime.

The Saints held UHSP to just one field goal in the second quarter and 1-of-13 shooting (7.7 percent) from the field. The Eutectics only converted three field goals in the third as the deficit grew larger. The Saints put the game out of reach with an 18-2 run and led by as many as 57 points in the final stanza. The win is the third straight for Maryville. The game was an exhibition contest for UHSP.
