HOW IT HAPPENED
Down 32-29 late in the first half, before the Saints charged ahead with the final seven points. Burton made one free throw, and
Trey Redd drove to the bucket for a layup and three-point play. Batchman splashed in a 3-pointer as the Saints went ahead 39-29 at the break.
Maryville pushed its edge to double digits early in the second half and were up 54-43 after a
Lawrence Brazil III triple from the top of the key. The Greyhounds went on an 8-2 run and chopped the gap down to just 58-56 with four minutes to play. Batchman scored five straight points to steady the Maryville lead. The margin was still 63-58 before Burton hammered down a dunk and a seven-point advantage. The Maryville defense did not allow a basket down the final stretch, and four free throws in the final minute salted the game away.
