Fayette, Iowa – The Maryville men's basketball team saw five players score in double figures but Upper Iowa rallied to down the Saints 90-82. The Saints shot 52.3 from the field in the defeat.
Ari Jackson and
Trey Redd tied for the team lead with 16 points apiece.
JT Morgan narrowly missed a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Down 19-16, the Saints surged ahead with seven straight points. Jackson started the run with a 3-pointer, and Redd and
Tutu Chisholm hit buckets for a 23-19 lead. The Peacocks went back ahead 25-23 but the Saints answered with another 7-0 burst.
Luke Williams knocked down a jumper, and after a Jackson triple,
JT Morgan's jumper was good for a 30-25 edge. Now trailing 35-32, Redd scored on back-to-back jumpers, and Jackson's trey put the Saints ahead 39-35. Williams sank a late jumper as the Saints took a 41-38 lead into the break.

Upper Iowa started the second half with six straight points but again the Saints responded.
Davis Walker made a layup, and a Williams 3-pointer put the Saints on top 51-49. Maryville used an 11-4 and went up by a 66-62 count midway through the half. Morgan drained a 3-pointer and later made one free throw. The Saints stretched their cushion to 74-69 with 5:18 to play on a Redd layup. Maryville was still leading 76-74 with four minutes remaining but 11 straight points by the Peacocks rallied the hosts to the victory.

What's Next?
Maryville begins its final homestand Thursday, Feb. 22, as Southwest Baptist visits for 1000 Saints Day. The basketball teams are looking to draw 1,000 fans on the day. A special recognition will be held honoring Director of Athletics Lonnie Folks, who is retiring at the end of June.
