Haidyn Pitsch poured in 17 points in the first quarter as the Maryville women's basketball team took early charge and rolled to an 80-47 win over Southwest Baptist. Pitsch led four Saints in double figures and finished with 19 points.
Karlee Feldman notched another double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Saints defense held SBU to just 29 percent shooting.

With the score tied at 4-4, the Saints reeled off eight straight points. Feldman sank two free throws, and
Carsyn Fearday hit one at the line. Pitsch drained her first triple of the game from the wing and followed with a layup. Pitsch drained three straight 3-pointers from the same spot as the Saints surged ahead 21-6. After
Faith Hawthorne scored on a layup, Pitsch splashed in her fifth 3-pointer in six minutes for a 26-8 cushion.

Early in the second, the Bearcats got as close as 26-14 but Hawthorne sank a jumper, and
Madyson Rigdon drained a 3-pointer.
Maddy Meehan's layup was good for a 33-14 edge. An 8-2 push gave Maryville a 41-17 lead late in the first half. Midway through the third, Maryville used an 8-2 burst and pushed the margin to 52-28. The Saints scored eight of the last 11 points of the stanza for a 60-33 lead after 30 minutes.

Mussorici finished with 16 points, while Fearday added 10 points and three steals.
Gracie Stugart handed out seven assists and came up with three steals. Feldman grabbed seven of her caroms on the offensive end.
