St. Louis – The Maryville men's volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 sweep over Central State Friday evening. The Saints eased to a 25-11, 25-22, 25-18 decision.
Luke Kraft topped the Saints with eight kills, while
David Fleischer hit .700 with seven kills on 10 swings.
Josh Zhuchenko came up with nine digs to lead the defense.

Central State recap
Up 4-2, the Saints scored five of the next six points to extend their lead.
Jacob Fischer had a kill and followed with two straight aces.
David Fleischer had a kill and teamed with
Cameron Chambers for a block and a 9-3 lead. After a CSU point, the Saints tallied four straight, and a Fleischer kill was good for a 13-4 margin. The Saints went on a 5-0 run to put the set away.

Set two was tied at 5-5 before the Saints scored three straight when a Kraft kill made it 8-5. The margin was 15-10 following a Fischer ace but CSU got to within 20-19. The Saints took advantage of three CSU errors and edged to a 23-20 lead. After two points by the visitors, Fleischer had a kill, and a CSU error gave the Saints a 25-22 win.

In the final set, Maryville's margin was just 7-6 before reeling off five straight. Lee started the run, and CSU committed two errors. Kraft pounded down back-to-back kills for a 12-6 margin. Central State got as close as four but Maryville responded with five of the next six points and held on to close out the match.
