St. Louis – No. 16 Maryville men's lacrosse used a huge third quarter to break away and down Alabama Huntsville 17-5. The Saints scored all six goals in the third quarter and eight-in-a-row to pull away in the second half.
Ben Mickett and
Reid Usrey both finished with three goals and two assists, while
Zach Baker notched a hat trick.
Garrett Rivers led a stout defensive effort with five ground balls and four caused turnovers, while
Derek Radke made 10 saves in the cage.

Alabama Huntsville recap
Clayton Cerett opened the scoring in the opening minute before UAH tied the game.
Ethan Olson and Mickett scored for a 3-1 edge. The Chargers pulled one score back but Mickett and Cerett found the back of the net for a 5-2 margin after 15 minutes. The teams traded goals in the second quarter as the Saints settled for a 7-4 advantage at halftime.

The Saints peppered the UAH goal but broke through in the third on Baker's first. He scored again 37 seconds later and a
Matt Martyn tally made it three goals in 1:23. Baker completed his third-quarter hat trick, and Usrey fired in another score.
Colin Tobias capped the spree as the Saints led 13-4 heading into the fourth.

Usrey and Mickett both scored man-up goals to open the fourth for a 15-4 advantage as the Saints cruised to the victory.
