St. Louis – The Maryville men's lacrosse team scored three straight goals in the fourth quarter and held off Lynn University for a thrilling 11-10 victory Monday.
Clayton Cerett and
Mitchell Kaye both scored twice, while
Justin Simonson distributed three assists.
Shea Raeburn won 15 faceoffs at the dot, while
Dylan Radke made 10 saves in the nets.

The Saints grabbed the early lead with three straight to stun the Knights.
Ethan Olson opened the scoring 1:23 into the game, and Kaye scored 46 seconds later.
Justin Morgan put the Saints on top 3-0 at the 10:37 mark. Lynn came back with two goals but Cerett tallied right at the end of the first for a 4-2 lead. Defenses took over as Lynn scored the only two goals in the second as the game was tied 4-4 at halftime.

The Knights took their only lead of the game by scoring in the first minute of the third but Raeburn won the ensuing faceoff and deposited a goal five seconds to tie the game. Cerett put the Saints ahead 6-5 at the 12:07 mark. The Knights tied the game before
Colin Tobias and
Connor Kvaal scored for an 8-6 Maryville advantage. Lynn scored to end the third and start the fourth as the game was deadlocked again at 8-all.

Reid Usrey fired in a goal to push the Saints ahead again, and Kaye scored for a two-goal edge.
Ben Foster tallied with 8:01 to play for an 11-8 lead, which would prove to be the game winner. Lynn scored twice in a 33-second span to close to within 11-10 with exactly three minutes to play. The Knights took two shots but the Maryville defense did not allow a score. Lynn had a chance again with just over a minute to play but Radke made the save. The Knights had one final chance in the waning seconds but the attempt was blocked as the Saints forced a turnover at the buzzer.
