Saints Men's Lacrosse Sees Three-Game Win Streak End at Westminster

Salt Lake City, Utah – In a game that was delayed one day due to a high winds warning, the No. 14 Maryville men's lacrosse team saw its three-game winning streak end 12-7 at Westminster University. Zach Baker and Ben Mickett both notched hat tricks to lead the Saints offense. Andrew Skifstad went 8-of-11 at the dot as the Saints won 14 of the game's 23 faceoffs.

Westminster recap
Westminster scored the first two goals of the game before the Saints drew level. Mickett tallied his first goal, and Clayton Cerett tied the contest at the 9:20 mark. However, the Griffins used a 4-0 run to end the first quarter. An early score in the second put Maryville in a 7-2 deficit. Baker pulled one goal back, and Mickett make it 7-4 before halftime.

The defenses took over in the third as neither team scored until Westminster went up 8-4. The hosts opened the fourth quarter with the first four goals before the Saints made a late charge. Mickett completed his hat trick, and Baker fired in the last two goals of the game but the Saints only managed to get back to within 12-7. The Maryville offense was slowed by Westminster goalie Chrisitian Jones, who stopped 25 shots.
