QUINCY, Ill. – Senior pitcher
Chayse Ramey threw a pair of complete-game victories in a doubleheader sweep of Quincy University on Sunday. The Maryville ace allowed just three earned runs in a 6-3 win in game one before shutting out the Hawks 6-0 in game two.

Game One Recap
Quincy jumped out to a quick lead in the top of the first inning with a three-run home run from Allyson Maynard. Maryville responded in the second with an RBI single from
Brooklyn Moore and a sacrifice fly from
Emily Corona.

Starter
Chayse Ramey settled in after a rough start in the first and held the game at 3-2 until the top of the fourth.
Mandi Lenon led off with a single, the Hawks made an error and
Melanie Nelson capitalized with an RBI single to tie the game. Two batters later,
Erin Wurst doubled home two runs to give the Saints a 5-3 lead.
Jenna Kosnoff plated another with a ground out to extend it to three.

Now with the lead, Ramey dominated the home lineup for the remainder of the game, only allowing three more baserunners after the fourth inning to finish off a 6-3 Maryville win. She ended game one allowing three earned runs and four hits while picking up three strikeouts. Â

Game Two Recap
After a scoreless first inning, Kosnoff led off the second with a single and stole second. Lenon followed up with a walk and the two runners executed a double steal successfully. That set the stage for Moore's two-RBI single to give her team a 2-0 lead early in game two.

Ramey, starting her second consecutive game, set the Hawks down 1-2-3 in the bottom half of the second and worked out of a jam in the third. In the fourth, she again set the side down in order and kept the game still at 2-0 until the top of the seventh.

In the seventh,
Tori Forbeck and Corona singled paving the way to
Addison Koth's RBI double. Duff singled to left field to bring in another, followed by a sacrifice fly from Wurst and an RBI single from Kosnoff.

Now with a 6-0 lead and on the verge of her second complete game of the afternoon, Ramey got a groundout, a strikeout, and a fly out to end a Maryville sweep of Quincy and her 12
th complete game of 2024.
