St. Louis – Ben Foster and Mitchell Kaye both recorded hat tricks as the No. 16 Maryville men's lacrosse team moved by Montevallo 14-8 Saturday. The Saints defensive efforts forced the Falcons into 30 turnovers as Maryville recorded 19 CTs.
 
Montevallo recap
The Falcons tallied the first two goals of the game before the Saints answered with four straight. Zach Baker got Maryville on the board, and Connor Kvaal tied the contest. Clayton Cerett put the Saints on top, and Kaye's first of the day capped the run. Montevallo pulled one back at the end of the first.
 
The Maryville defense shutout the Falcons in the second quarter as the Saints extended their edge with three more scores. Kaye registered the first, before Justin Simonson fired in a score. Foster found the back of the net for a 7-3 edge at halftime.
 
Baker opened the third with an early score before Kaye and Foster tallied 40 seconds apart for a 10-3 advantage. The teams traded goals the rest of the third as Maryville was up 12-6. The Falcons pulled one goal back but the Saints put the game away on scores by Foster and Kvaal.
