LIBERTY, Mo. –
Chayse Ramey picked up her 14
th complete game of the season in game one against William Jewell College to help Maryville softball to a road doubleheader split. The Saints won game one 7-1 before getting shutout in a 2-0 loss in game two.

Game One Recap
A one-out walk to
Emily Corona and a ground out put a runner in scoring position for
Erin Wurst. The senior from O'Fallon, Mo., singled in the runner to put the Saints up 1-0 in the first inning. Maryville got another run in the second after an error and a
Brooklyn Moore single.
Â
The Cardinals cut the lead in half in the bottom of the second, getting an RBI single from Abby Vandiver with runners at second and third.

Wurst picked up another RBI on a single to right field in the fifth, followed immediately by
Isabella Garcia's RBI fielder's choice to make it 4-1. Corona's ground-rule double with two runners in scoring position in the sixth put Maryville up 6-1.

After allowing the lone run in the second, Ramey settled in and posted zeroes for the remainder of the contest. She ended her day with four strikeouts, five hits allowed, and one unearned run in seven innings.

Game Two Recap
Jewell starting pitcher Olivia Wood kept the Saints quiet in the first two frames and got a couple of runs in support in the second. Sophia Lopez doubled in a run followed soon after by a throwing error that allowed a second run to score.

Mercedes Delgado came in out of the bullpen and worked around a pair of runners on base in the second inning to hold the game at 2-0. She went on to finish the game for Maryville, going 4.2 innings while allowing no runs on two hits with one strikeout.

Wood continued to dominate the Saints' lineup throughout the rest of the game, surrendering just five hits and no earned runs. She finished off the complete-game, 2-0 victory with seven strikeouts.
