Kroeger Wins Second Career GLVC Pitcher of the Week Award

INDIANAPOLIS – Jacob Kroeger was selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time in his career on Monday. The senior from Palmyra, Mo., earns the award after his one-hit shutout against Hillsdale College on March 1.

The Maryville ace threw all seven innings on Friday in a 10-0 mercy rule victory over the Chargers to open the weekend. He struck out eight batters while allowing the lone base runner on a single up the middle with one out in the top of the first inning. The win improved his 2024 record to 2-0 and gave him his second career shutout.

The last time he was selected as the GLVC Pitcher of the Week was on April 4, 2022, for a performance where he recorded a one-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts in a win over Drury University.

Maryville baseball opens conference play at home on Friday, March 8, against the Upper Iowa University Peacocks. The first pitch is set for 2 p.m.
