ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Maryville University fell 7-5 to Missouri Western State University on Tuesday evening. The Saints jumped out to a 5-2 lead through five innings, but the Griffons responded with one in the sixth, three in the seventh, and one in the eighth to complete the comeback victory.

The Griffons got on the board in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice bunt that plated a run.
Elias Stevens responded in the third with a three-run home run for his 12
th of 2024.
Matt Schuler went back-to-back with him with a solo bomb to right to make it 4-1.

Quinton Robertson singled home a run in the bottom of the third, but the Saints got the run back in the fifth.
Camden Ruby, in the middle of a 3-for-3 performance, singled with one out and later came in to score on
Matt Arnold's RBI single to right field.

Trailing 5-2 in the bottom of the sixth, the Griffons put the leadoff runner on with a hit by pitch who eventually came around to score on a passed ball. Zach Hanlan led off the seventh with a home run to start a three-run frame for his team.

Tyson Gerdes added an insurance solo home run in the eighth before Robert Farrell came on in the ninth and earned his fifth save of the season, sealing up a 7-5 final.
