BOLIVAR, Mo. –
Matt Schuler and
Matt Arnold both drove in six runs in a 24-6 Maryville baseball win over Southwest Baptist University to complete a four-game sweep. The Saints are now 25-8 overall and sit at the top of the Great Lakes Valley Conference with an 18-2 record in conference play.

The Maryville offense got off to a fast start in the top of the first, taking a 2-0 lead on an RBI single from
Matt Schuler. Two batters later,
Matt Arnold stepped in with the bases loaded and doubled home three runs with a shot to right center.

The Saints continued to add on in the third when Arnold doubled home two more runs to make it 7-0. He came in to score later on a
Dominic Sharp sacrifice fly before an RBI double from
Michael Gould extended the lead to nine. The offense capped off a six-run inning when
Jacob Hager walked with the bases loaded and a second runner came in to score on an error by the catcher.

A three-RBI triple from the Bearcats cut into the lead in the bottom half of the third, but
Jack Zebig singled in
Andy Bunton in the fourth. SBU got two more on a Zeke Skinner RBI double in the bottom of the fourth but surrendered two more runs in the fifth to make it a 14-5 ballgame.

Schuler highlighted a six-run sixth inning for his team with a grand slam to give him six RBI on the day.
Elias Stevens hit a second grand slam in the seventh to push the game to 24-6.

Braden Barnard came in to pitch in the bottom of the seventh and worked a scoreless inning to end a 24-6 mercy rule victory.
Noah Arras picked up the win on the hill, throwing five innings with five earned runs and eight strikeouts.
