INDIANAPOLIS – Maryville University baseball will take on Grand Valley State University in the first round of the NCAA Regional on Thursday, May 16, in Indianapolis. The Saints earned the third seed in the Midwest region and are taking on the sixth-seeded Lakers.

This is the second consecutive NCAA Regional appearance for Maryville after they won a pair of games in 2023, falling just short of a trip to the NCAA Super Regionals. This year, second-seeded Indianapolis is playing the host on the other side of the Midwest Regional Bracket #2 and they will take on the seven-seed Trevecca Nazarene.

The Saints went 38-17 this season with a 26-10 conference record, good for second place. In the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament on championship Sunday, they erased a five-run deficit in an elimination game before taking down Quincy University 11-1 to earn the first GLVC Tournament title in program history.

Grand Valley State went 30-23 overall with an 18-12 record in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. They additionally won four straight contests in the GLIAC Championship Tournament including two over the first seed in the Midwest region, Saginaw Valley State University.
