ST. LOUIS – The Maryville women's basketball team used a huge third-quarter run and pulled away 78-54 over Rockhurst.
Lindsey Schadewalt recorded her first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the way.
Claire Rake finished with 13 points, while
Alicia Burgos hit all four field goal attempts and tallied 10 points to go along with eight rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Tied at 34-all early in the third, the Saints reeled off 10 straight points to charge ahead. Rake drilled a 3-pointer before Burgos powered for a layup off a
Gracie Stugart assist. Burgos tacked on a 3-point play, and a Schadewalt layup put Maryville on top 44-34.

Rockhurst went nearly four minutes without scoring before hitting a jumper. The Saints scored seven of the next 10 points to go up 51-39. In the final minute,
Olivia Hahn splashed in a triple, and
Caden Krohn hit a jumper at the buzzer for a 58-42 lead as the Saints outscored the Hawks by 16 in the stanza.

Stugart made one free throw and Rake drained a jumper to start the final 10 minutes. Rake drilled a deep 3-pointer as the Saints pushed their edge to 64-42. Maryville's margin grew to as many as 26 points as the Saints posted their second straight win.
