ST. LOUIS – Paced by
Ella Brinkmann's double-double, the Maryville volleyball team rolled past Missouri S&T by set scores of 25-18, 25-23, 28-26. The senior posted 12 kills on a .313 hitting percentage to go along with 19 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Maryville hammered home a .438 hitting percentage to take set one. The Saints scored four straight points to take a lead they would not surrender. Still up 14-10, Maryville tacked on five of the next six points.
Hailey Levinson and
Ella Domian had kills, and the Miners committed an error. Brinkmann and Domian sandwiched kills around a Miner point.
Cami Kohmetscher dropped in a kill for a 19-11 advantage. The Miners got to within four points before a Domian kill and a block by Brinkmann and
Leslie Longanbach ended the set.

The Saints scored five straight points to take an early lead. Maryville carried the play and slowly pushed out to a 15-6 advantage. The Saints were still up 20-13 before, the Miners had their best run of play and came all the way back. Missouri S&T eventually went up 22-20 until the Saints responded with six straight points. The Miners had back-to-back errors, and
Kadie Tarasiewicz had a kill for a 23-22 lead. The Miners tied the score at 23-all before Tarasiewicz had a kill, and she teamed up with
Ellie Witthaus for a block to end the set 25-23.

Set three again saw each team with a big run before the set moved into extra points. Maryville used a 5-0 run and built an 11-5 advantage. The Miners came back using six unanswered points to grab a 17-15 edge. The visitors had two set points at 24-22 but Brinkmann took over with three straight kills to push the Saints ahead 25-24. The score was again tied at 26-26 before the Saints closed the match out.
Caroline Glastetter had a cross-court kill, and a Miner error ended the set and match at 28-26.
